Position: Accounting/Payroll Clerk
Location: Guelph, ON
Industry: Construction, Dewatering & Groundwater Control Services
Type: Full-time, Direct Hire Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm

Salary: 60-75k dependent on profile & experience

As an Accounting/Payroll Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling all aspects of bookkeeping, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and yearend preparation for the accountant.
  • Proficiently managing SAGE software to streamline financial processes.
  • Utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint for efficient communication and data management.
  • Processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Collaborating with a Payroll Provider, if applicable, to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Utilizing your knowledge from completed National Payroll Institute courses, if available.
  • Managing employee benefits and assisting with HR administrative tasks.
  • Collaborating with the administrative team for various tasks as needed.
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end reports for the accountant.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Post-Secondary school diploma in bookkeeping or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in all bookkeeping duties, A/R, A/P, Payroll, and yearend preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills: The successful candidate will be proficient in the following areas:

  • Handling A/R invoices and receipts, as well as following up on aging A/R.
  • Processing A/P for employee expenses and overseeing all aspects of A/P.
  • Initiating EFT payments to vendors and preparing Statutory Declarations for payment.
  • Assisting in payroll processing for 35-50 employees.
  • Contributing to the management and maintenance of Group Benefits and RRSP contributions.
  • Supporting admin tasks and aiding in the preparation of essential documents.

Remuneration: Our client is offering a competitive wage ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
