Senior Estimator

Located in Surrey, BC

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our company's operations by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects. Your expertise in estimating and project management will directly impact our ability to win contracts and deliver successful projects on time and within budget. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
•    Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
•    Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
•    Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project budgets and timelines.
•    Identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures during the estimating process.
•    Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and schedules.
•    Participate in bid meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
•    Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of pricing for materials, equipment, and labor.
•    Monitor industry trends and stay informed about changes in codes, regulations, and pricing.
•    Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators as needed.
Qualifications:
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
•    Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry practices.
•    Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
•    Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
•    Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
•    Strong communication and negotiation skills.
•    Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (preferred).
