Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Overtime available for hourly employees
About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Quality Control professional to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to perform quality audits on metal fabrication and welding work, oversee system assembly, and conduct functional testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication quality, with experience in welding quality standards, precision measuring, and quality systems.
We are flexible on the title for this position and are willing to hire a Quality Technician or a Quality Engineer, depending on the applicant’s experience. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional looking to grow into a Quality Engineer role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on metal fabrication, assembly, and welding work using tools such as tape measures, micrometers, borescopes, and torque wrenches (training available for some tools).
- Develop and maintain product control plans, leading audits and driving quality system performance.
- Inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Lead investigations, drive corrective actions, and respond to technical quality issues from customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external inspectors (e.g., ASME, National Board).
- Conduct supplier audits, providing feedback and working on continuous improvement plans.
- Maintain organized records of quality audits and reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with welding processes and the ability to assess weld quality (welding experience not required).
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, torque wrenches, calipers, and borescopes.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and experience with ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience is a plus, especially if you’ve supervised a quality control team or driven process improvements.
