Overview: Looking for an experienced water mitigation specialist that is trained to be responsible for managing and mitigating water damage in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The primary objective of a water mitigation specialist is to assess, contain, and minimize the impact of water-related incidents such as floods, leaks, or plumbing failures.
JOB DUTIES:
May include but not limited to the following:
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to water damage incidents, including floods, leaks, or burst pipes, to assess the situation and initiate appropriate mitigation measures.
• Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections to evaluate the extent of water damage, identify affected areas, and determine the appropriate restoration procedures.
• Water Extraction: Utilize specialized equipment such as pumps, vacuums, and dehumidifiers to remove excess water from affected areas efficiently and prevent further damage.
• Drying and Dehumidification: Implement drying techniques and moisture monitoring tools to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, carpets, and other affected surfaces, ensuring a safe and mold-free environment.
• Mold Remediation: Identify and address potential mold growth by applying proper remediation techniques, including containment, removal, and treatment of affected areas.
• Salvage and Restoration: Safely remove and salvage damaged materials and personal belongings, coordinating with restoration teams to facilitate the repair and reconstruction process.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of water damage incidents, including assessment findings, mitigation procedures, equipment usage, and restoration progress. Prepare accurate reports for insurance purposes and provide necessary documentation.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in water mitigation, restoration, or a related industry is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of water damage restoration techniques, equipment, and best practices.
• Familiarity with the principles of drying, dehumidification, and mold remediation.
• Ability to operate specialized equipment such as pumps, extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with property owners, insurance professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and the ability to document and report information accurately.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Hours/Shift:
Part-time (20 hours per week) to start but hours will increase based on job demand.
Pay:
$20.00-$25.00/hour depending on experience
