Job Description:

A well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join their team. This position focuses on machine setup and operation, producing high-quality precision components while maintaining tight tolerances and specifications.

In this role, you will set up and operate Haas and Mori Seiki CNC lathes, interpret blueprints and GD&T, and troubleshoot machining issues as they arise. While programming experience is preferred, it is not required for success in this position.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and maintains a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Additional responsibilities include general shop maintenance such as cleaning machines, organizing the workspace, and monitoring or replacing coolant. Overtime may be available after permanent hire.

Requirements:

• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes (Haas and/or Mori Seiki preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, Deltronic gauges, bore gauges, optical comparator)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a machining environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team
• Self-motivated with strong initiative
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; machining school or formal training preferred

Preferred Qualifications: 

• CNC programming experience (preferred but not required)
• Experience with Swiss machines
• Manual lathe programming experience
• Familiarity with GibbsCAM
• Journeyman-level lathe experience (pay dependent on experience)
