Salary: $70-$85K+

A National Non-Profit Community Resources Agency with locations in Pendleton, IN is searching for a Head Start State Director. This position calls for a strategic leader of designated programs that plans for and makes decisions within the framework of organizational mission, values and goals.

 Responsibilities:

  • This Director will communicate vision to motivate team to meet desired organizational and program outcomes. 
  • Assure compliance in the areas of finance, personnel and program services are met.
  • Oversees early childhood and family support programs within designated service area.
  • Reviews and analyzes monthly financial and programmatic reports to assess the budget status of programs. 
  • Develops and implements effective, integrated management systems and organizational structures which support the administration of program services. 
  • Protects the safety of children by ensuring implementation of active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.
  • Coordinates and participates in planning meetings including strategic planning, community assessment and self-assessment.
  • Collaborates with team to develop and ensures timely submission of annual grant plans and budgets, school readiness plans and overall program training plans. Represents organization through participation on local, state and national committees and boards. Develops collaborative relationships with community partners to enhance delivery of comprehensive services to children and families.

Pay/Benefits:

  • $70-$85K+ depending upon experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Welfare, Public Administration, Human Services, Social Sciences or related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years professional leadership/management and supervisory experience preferably in educational non-profit.
  • Significant experience in administration, including knowledge of State licensing requirements and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and systems in the field of early childhood. Ability to interpret complex policies and regulations.
  • Experience in design and delivery of training.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to learn new systems as needed.
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in all employee and customer interactions.
  • Ability to determine and prioritize demanding workload while being flexible to emergent/unplanned needs and situations.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
