Quality Control Assistant: Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E)

 

Job Description:

 

Assist the Quality Control Inspector(s) with inspecting all aspects of instrumentation and electro-mechanical systems including:

  • Commercial / industrial electrical Control and Utility systems,
  • Instrumentation installation and wiring
  • PLC and DCS wiring installations
  • Analyzer installation and Sample Systems tubing/piping
  • Enclosures and Buildings Fabrication practices

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30 pm

 

Responsibilities:

Assisting with in-process inspections & final inspections for the following:

  • Metal fabrication and welding
  • Electrical (NEC, NFPA, IEC, etc.)
  • Control panels (Electrical & Instrumentation)
  • Analyzer systems
  • Power terminal torque inspections
  • Assisting with generating reports for internal and external (customer) use including the following: discrepancy, corrective action, nonconformance, shop performance and progress reports
  • Assisting or administering and executing the UL labeling program
  • Assisting or administering the customer satisfaction survey
  • Assist the Quality Control Inspector(s) with verifying proper document control procedures including project fabrications packages and revision levels on drawings and specifications
  • Monitoring the condition of tools and equipment
  • Monitoring housekeeping and cleaning
  • Assist Quality Control Inspector(s) with managing the receiving inspections for all Customer Furnished Material (CFM) and special-order parts and material
  • Participate in administering the employee safety program
  • Inspecting packaging and shipping of products to customers

 

Requirements:

  • QA training for electro-mechanical and/or instrumentation systems is preferred.
  • Must be able to read blueprints for I/E and have knowledge of electrical installation requirements and procedures, quality standards for I/E installations, and be comfortable with the interpretation of customer supplied drawings and specifications.

 

 

  • Must be comfortable with the use of computers and test equipment, proficient in Microsoft Office products and be able to use an iPad and digital cameras.
  • Must be comfortable with test procedures and execution including pressure testing, powering up electrical and instrumentation systems and powering up and verifying HVAC and ventilation systems. Training can be provided for the chosen candidate.
  • Must have good knowledge of proper shipping and packaging requirements

 

Salary and Benefits:

$18-$25 / hour depending on experience
