We’ve been asked by a medical manufacturing client in Noblesville to help them find a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. The company has grown 25% year over year and is looking for a great candidate to join the team. This is a direct hire placement

Essential Job Duties, knowledge, skills and responsibilities for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist include:

  • Manage Accounts Payable cycle
  • Knowledge of and ability to use automated A/P software.  Quick books experience a plus.
  • Intermediate/Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel experience
  • Must exhibit strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Handle Accounts Payable for separate entities across multi-states
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Ensure that payables are verified, accurate and processed promptly for vendor discounts, schedule and distributes payments in a timely manner while adhering to departmental procedures
  • Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance and account reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and function well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Maintaining data-driven metrics to define success for the team
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ensure efficient, accurate and timely processing of all vendor invoices
  • Support the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations
  • Analyze current processes and procedures to ensure best practices are implemented
  • Ensure all A/P documents and payments are processed, scanned and stored in accordance with company policy
  • Participates in monthly close activities and performs reconciliation of A/P
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Understand utility contracts to support branch locations
  • Prepare and present AP reports for bi-weekly management meeting
  • Ad-hoc reports as needed

Education and Experience

  • College Degree preferred
  • Candidates must be able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills required to operate practice management system (i.e., use Window operating system, conduct Internet searches, communicate by email, etc.)
