Seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our rapidly growing team! We're a local seafood company is a rapidly growing the wholesale lobster business up and down the coast of Maine! As the largest lobster processing facility in the State, we have quickly become a leading seafood exporter, shipping millions of pounds of live lobster, fresh HPP, cooked and whole frozen lobster meat to nearly every corner of the world. The Quality Assurance Technician is the quality advocate for the plant, providing leadership for the quality and food safety systems and programs. The key drivers are to assure compliance to specification on incoming materials, in-process conditions, and finished products. The right candidate will be someone who’s eager to learn, reliable with attendance, and comfortable enforcing policies with employees.

Schedule: 1st shift, starting at 8:00am Monday – Friday

Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour

This is a Full-Time/Long-Term position

  • Maintains and ensures compliance of a qualified HACCP program
  • Measure, assess, and improve product quality performance
  • Communicates compliance results to operating groups, ensures timely feedback and provides technical support to operate processes at target
  • Determines the disposition of all raw materials, packaging and finished product HOLD orders
  • Follow the Quality and Product Safety System that consistently meets regulatory, customer and third-party audit requirements

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food safety
  • Must have excellent record keeping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
