Plastic Injection: Process Technician - Swing shift

Mon-Fri 3pm-11:30pm

 

SUMMARY:

Locally owned, high quality Plastic Injection company looking for an experienced tech to perform the duties of a molding technician and assist others as needed. Employee will assist in training, setup new jobs, and complete documentation of first run.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacturing of plastic products.
  • Perform equipment calibration and maintenance monitoring.
  • Start up injection molding machines and all necessary accompanying tools.
  • Troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise.
  • Maintain and upkeep tools according to safety regulations, as well as the proper working order for machine operator
  • Perform routine mold changes, initiate cycle start-ups and be capable of processing and understanding a wide range of materials.
  • Performing routine teardown and cleaning of barrels and screws. Perform routing preventive maintenance on tools/molds.
  • Perform the duties of a material handler and/or machine operator on occasion, as needed.
  • Conform to all safety standards of the company.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, associates degree in related field preferred, 3+ years as a setup/process technician, or combination of education and experience.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Possess a good understanding of various types of molding machines and how they operate.
  • Possess basic understanding of tool construction and operation.
  • Be detail-oriented and capable of working in a neat and clean manner.
  • Ability to maintain good communication and interpersonal skills.

 

LANGUAGE and REASONING SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
