The Human Resources Specialist supports effective and efficient operations of organization’s human resources department, providing outstanding customer service to all team members, applicants and external partners.  We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic and a passion for the health of each of our patients.   • Partners with leadership in delivery of department goals and objectives.
  • Supports day-to-day team member engagement and relations needs.
  • Contributes to and models the organization’s mission, vision and values on a daily basis.
  • Serves as a liaison and works in partnership with the Payroll Specialist to implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Works in partnership with hiring managers and human resources team to support all aspects of the recruiting process including posting new positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews with hiring managers and processing reference and background checks.
  • Conducts or assists with the onboarding process and new hire orientation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR, payroll, or management team members.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR and payroll files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Supports human resources team in communication with external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and recruiting events.
  • Stays current with and ensures compliance with federal, multi-state, and local employment, payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What You Get to Do!  

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
  • Professional HR Certification such as SHRM-CP®, SHRM-SCP®, PHR® and SPHR® preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Two or more years’ experience with multi state payroll and employment preferred (including but not limited to Oregon and Washington).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Two years of payroll system experience required, ADP WFN preferred.
