• Assists in managing and coordinating the Quality Management System and all elements.
• Supports the plant in the identification of quality related issues and leads the development of continuous improvement plans for the facility.
• Supports the plant HACCP, Quality Systems, Foods Safety & Food Defense Programs.
• Reviews technical problems or procedural issues and recommends solutions.
• Coordinates and assists in the performance of equipment or process capability studies.
• Defines Statistical Process Control methods by setting targets and limits for production.
• Manages and trains personnel on statistical methods for the analysis of the operation.
• Provides direction and training for facility compliance to all quality programs, policies and procedures. Develops documentation to drive quality in the facility.
• Ensures internal and external specifications are being met and all product is food safe.
• Manages sampling plans, rework requirements for quality holds in the plant that includes raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Analyzes and reports consumer information to the plant employees that includes customer complaints by product category and types of complaints.
• Analyzes and reports quality trends to the organization while driving plant objectives and KPI’s of quality, safety, productivity and customer service.
• Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company polices, SOP’s, work instructions and internal operational goals.
• Address non-conformances by developing and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, auditors or members of the business community.
• Demonstrates a commitment to employee safety, teamwork and product quality.
• Develops and implements corrective actions to food safety and quality concerns.
• Oversees the QA Team Leads, QA Techs and Document Control Coordinator roles.
• Collaborates with maintenance on equipment calibration issues and creates work orders.
• Must follow and enforce GMP production guidelines and quality procedures.
• Maintains a positive work atmosphere behaving and communicating as such to get along with clients, customers, co-workers and supervisors, while achieving performance standards.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Working knowledge of SQF auditing principles and guidelines. Familiar with current food manufacturing regulatory requirements and standards.
• Monitors product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Self-motivated and self-driven team player with proven leadership skills.
• Creative and results oriented with a tenacious drive to improve and sustain quality.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret equipment gauges and monitors on factory equipment.
• Possesses knowledge of the structure and function of all quality related equipment.

• Provision to cover tasks of Quality Manager in their absence.
• Capable of reading and understanding of quality related materials and safety manuals.
• Is familiar with all quality safety procedures and guidelines as well as the use of PPE.
• Works efficiently and manages time effectively. Pay close attention to details.
• Attends all safety, quality and production trainings.
• Communicates effectively and relates well to others to establish trust within the team.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude as well as credibility.
• Readily adapts and accepts change by fostering a continuous improvement culture.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and leads by example.

 REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Hands-on experience with Quality System internal and external audits and GMP’s.
• Formal training and strong working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, GMP’s, HACCP and other Food Safety or Quality programs.
• Effective project management skills with a high level of organization.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills as well as a good listener.
• Ability to effectively present information to executive management, regulatory agencies, auditors and members of the business community.
• Proficient typing and advanced computer skills using MS Office Suite programs.
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and other departments while fostering a “teamwork” atmosphere within the company.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• The employee is required to sit or stand up to 8 hours or more. A combination of time will be spent in the office areas as well as the production floor daily.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals. Able to calculate percentages, proportions and basic concepts of algebra.  Ability to calculate and understand business indices and interpret graphs.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific or technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
• Able to work on feet for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Serves on the HACCP, Food Safety, Safety Committee, Continuous Improvement teams.
• Exposed to warm and humid temperatures and or cold in certain departments.
• Individuals may be required to handle or transport allergen specific products.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Work authorization: United States (Required).
