POSITION – Accounts Payable Clerk / Receptionist
LOCATION:  Long Beach/Signal Hill
RATE: $18-$20/hr.



Job Scope:

Perform general office duties including, accounts payable duties, filing, telephone duties, and mail distribution. Collect, prepare, and process paperwork for the Accounts Payable department.  Maintain a high standard of customer service and ensure  “Can Do Attitude”.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process, code and date all invoices from incoming mail.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks.
  • Distribute signed checks as required.
  • Act as liaison between corporate and branches offices in account payables operations.
  • Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate payable files in a neat and orderly manner utilizing the company’s filing procedure.
  • Assist with updating vendor information for AP files.
  • Prepare cleared checks for storage.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as required.
  • Maintain and perform filing and copying.
  • Collect mail from the Post Office and process daily, including date-stamping of all mail.
  • Manage and maintain Pitney Bowes machine, upload postal money to machine, and prepare manual Purchase Order for postage.
  • Manage and direct all incoming telephone traffic and direct all calls to the appropriate department or individual in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Notify employees by email or message (notification method chosen by the employee) when they are unable to take a call.
  • Manage and control office supply stock.
  • Analyze office supply usage for better purchasing.



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 1 - 3 years related work experience in office management or other related business experience preferred.

  • This position requires attention to detail, the ability to stay on task and to type 40 WPM+.

  • Competent in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Windows. Once trained, proficiency in Acc/Pac.
