General Summary:
As directed by the Controller, the Staff Accountant and Data Analyst, will assist in completion of month-end financial reporting and development of dashboards and reports based on financial, sales, and cost records in a small but growing Accounting Department.
- Reconciliation of accounts: look for anomalies in data for review and identify errors and present correction.
- Prepare month end binders and reports for monthly financial review. Assist in month end closing.
- Work with other areas of the accounting department to review processes and assist in developing standard operating procedures.
- Analyzes financial and other data to assess quality and meaning of data.
- Preparing reports and projections stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Analyzes financial statements, revenue streams, costs, and expenditures. Use analysis to help develop a flexible budget for future forecasting, modeling of capital structure, and budgeting.
- Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion: Analyze and present conclusions to support visualizations in a clear, concise written format that can be referred to by management during decision making processes.

As guided by the Controller, the Financial - Data Analyst,
- Boosts the organization’s financial performance through the analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, patterns, and trends in data sets.
- Assigns numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time.
- Assists in the process of capital budgeting and expenditure planning
- Develops and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical knowledge of NIC products, market conditions, and trends.
- Conducts and compares analysis and market research to support internal financial analysis.
- Designs and develops financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting.
- Implements SQL and Excel formulas and functions to handle financial issues; receives data from relevant resources and tools providing data reports for review by the Controller.
- Assists in guiding and handling cost analysis.
- Creates and maintains various spreadsheets and dashboards in order to support analysis and provide clear, focused insight.
- Creates and maintain models to value potential investment opportunities.
- Monitors and reviews budgets, expenses, and devises and recommends to the Controller ways to reduce same.

Experience and Education:
- Several years of professional experience in an accounting environment handling various accounting functions, accounting process information, internal company statistics, and financial reports.
- Several years of proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role.
- B.S. in Accounting or Business with an emphasis on Accounting.
