The Superintendent oversees timely, efficient, and cost-effective construction projects for the company.  The Superintendent is responsible for managing building schedules, working with key internal and external stakeholders, breaking down barriers and mitigating construction risk to projects.  The Superintendent acts as the main point of contact between the Foreman, General Contractors, the Client, and the office.


The Superintendent also provides oversight to the performance and productivity of company Field Employees alongside the Director of Construction.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets, materials, equipment and assigning resources to ensure project revenue meets the target and losses in material, labor and reputation are minimized. 
  • Responsible for safe working conditions and compliance with all safe operating procedures.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.  This includes identifying project risks and critical paths, developing a risk mitigation plan as appropriate, and identifying and escalating issues to ensure project deliverables stay on time and on target.   
  • Direct, organize, and oversee key project deliverables alongside the Foreman to ensure quality and timely completion of work site requirements.
  • Provide leadership support to field employees along with regular feedback, timely communication on schedules/jobs, coaching and documentation.  
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and evaluating field employees alongside the Director of Construction.
  • Collaborative and willing to help where needed.  Lead by example with key policies and practices. 
  • Contribute to an atmosphere focused on communication, trust, and employee engagement.
  • Be professional and courteous at all times when representing Company.   
  • Participate in the interactive development of an annual plan focused on YOUR professional growth.

Training, Education and Experience:

  • Education – Completion of 4-years of high school, or equivalent.
  • Experience and/or Training – 3 to 5 years of experience as a Foreman. Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints as well as performing layout.
  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid Driver''s license.   OSHA 10-hour training.
  • Technology/Equipment – Ability to use a smart phone for calls, emails, calendars as well as accessing files or documents.  Ability to operate a computer to include Microsoft Office Programs, file sharing and time tracking software.  Prior experience operating machinery, power tools, motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
