Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a direct hire Value Stream Operations Support Manager.

Purpose of Role: 

The primary objective of this leadership role is to provide project management support and lead operations-wide process improvements in all areas of operations with special focus on operating systems and cost improvement at the plant level. This role will be responsible for delivering and supporting sustainable step-function improvements in the operations factory for priorities set by the Plant Manager or BNA Support Manager. This includes improving and implementing new operating system solutions to deliver against assigned projects across the plant. These projects include embedding new business processes using LEAN methodology and providing support to transformation projects.


Major elements of the role are as follows: 

  • Champion key operations projects with discipline and expertise in forming, planning, executing, and completing projects across the factory.
  • Assist Value Stream and factory managers by providing support for improving production systems, processes, and people. Provide project management guidance in delivering against the Sr. Production Director and Plant Manager’s objectives. Support development of new managerial tools, methods, and systems to improve operations results.
  • A leader with broad operational scope and skills focused on proactively developing processes and solutions to remove systemic bottlenecks and apply good principled judgement to help prioritize, coach, and develop operations.
  • A grounded, straightforward communicator who interacts with stakeholders across all levels of the factory.
  • A structured problem solver who develops process standardization projects with peers and internal customers to achieve program objectives primarily aimed at the factory and line level.
  • Maintains a passionate and aggressive change agenda in their approach to measure, assess and resolve operational issues at the site
  • Drives step-function changes using P&L, KPI and analytical tools, conduct plant audits, identifies improvement opportunities, and utilizes a wide range of techniques to drive operational change with Plant leadership.


Key Functional Skills/Knowledge:

  • General and wide operations background.
  • GMP’s, Quality, Lean Principles with a heavy emphasis on project delivery using problem solving tools within production systems
  • Financial acumen/P&L working knowledge
  • Planning/Project Management
  • Cross functional program management

Key Experiences:

  • Operations Management (3-5 years)
  • Engineering, Industrial Engineering (2-4 years)
  • Supply Chain or Activity Management (2-4 years)
  • Project Manager (2-4 years)

Desired Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management. Master’s in supply chain Mgmt., Business, Industrial, other Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or similar certification through ASQ is a plus
  • Project Mgmt. certification
  • Advanced in excel or other similar software tools
