QC Inspector

Days Mon-Friday

 

Main Purpose:


The Quality Control Inspector will ensure that all required inspections are completed in a timely manner, to the standards set in place by the company, and that all quality issues are brought to the attention of the department supervisor. This role will assist in the successful operation of the quality department, assessing conformance to item-specific acceptance criteria established in the ERP system, and adhering to the requirements of the company’s AS9100-certified quality management system.

Key Responsibilities:


• Be proficient using certified hand inspection tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings to determine inspection requirements.
• Inspect product according to established Inspection Specifications in the quality ERP system.
• Enter inspection results into the ERP system.
• Create nonconformance and MRB records.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming product.
• File and scan required documentation on the internal file server.
• Resolve moderately complex questions or problems within the department.
• Communicate effectively with employees and management.
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
• Strictly adhere to the requirements of the AS9100 quality management documentation.
• Be available to travel for training purposes as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor or Director of Quality Assurance.

Skills, Experience, and Aptitude:


The Quality Control Inspector has experience testing, evaluating, and inspecting products in a manufacturing environment to ensure accuracy. Two years of full-time quality inspection experience is required, 5-7 years’ experience is preferred. Experience working in an AS9100-certified QMS is preferred. The Quality Inspector is proficient in the ability to understand and utilize all written materials available in reference to the project at hand.

CMM Inspection and First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) required 


Essential Functions of the Job:


• Safely lift and carry heavy objects with the help of another person if necessary.
• Ability to work well independently.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout the day alternating sitting and standing as necessary.
• Must be able to visually compare product to visual standards to assess conformance.
• Perform repetitive movement such as pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping.
• Perform fine hand manipulation including handling small and large objects.
