POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Manufacturing Program Manager acts in a leadership capacity to ensure that aspects of the production launch process meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • To be credible in this role, you really need to have a degree in engineering and have a strong foundation in program management and manufacturing. Electronics industry experience is a plus.
  • The ability to work independently without a lot of daily oversight is essential.
  • Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to work well with others and strong communication are a must.
  • This position offers the right person project variety, interesting work, and the opportunity to work with some outstanding engineers solving complex problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Engineering degree with a minimum five (5) year of relevant management experience in the electronics and/or automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of electronic manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Strong leadership and program management skills.
  • Must be team and process oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills required.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills required for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good time-management and attention to detail.
  • Strong professional experience and skill using MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with packaging and/or mechanical engineering and thermal analysis.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND FUNCTIONS: 

  • Serve as the key customer contact for engineering, quality and launch teams
  • Report program status updates to the executive team, including timing, quality and cost KPI's.
  • Develop effective KPI's to monitor teams launch status and performance.
  • Provide project leadership and drive all aspects of program launch.
  • Work closely with counterpart engineering program managers to transition programs from development into a successful production launch.
  • Ensure customer deliverables and program timing are met.
  • Establish and maintain an open issues report and project timeline.
  • Establish and maintain program files and retain in an orderly manner.
  • Facilitate and manage scope change activity.
  • Minimize project risk and inform management appropriately
  • Facilitate lessons-learned session at the conclusion of the launch as part of continuous improvement.
  • Support sales team with quoting efforts related to their customer programs.

SCHEDULE:

8:00 am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday 

*The Manufacturing Program Manager will work out of Auburn Hills, MI or Shelby Township, MI
