ELECTRCAL ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Program Manager acts in a leadership capacity to oversee a team of engineers to ensure that all aspects of the engineering design cycle process meet internal and external customer requirements.

To be credible in this role, you really need to have a background in electric circuit design and manufacturing as you will be working with some very talented electrical engineers. Strong communication skills are a must because you will be facilitating meetings with the customer, executive team, staff, and assisting with budgeting & quoting activities. With multiple projects occurring simultaneously, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are also required.

This position offers the right person project variety, interesting work, and the opportunity to work with some outstanding engineers solving complex problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience with electronic circuit design and assembly / manufacturing (essential)

* Experience with surface mount technology (SMT), thru-hole, and printed circuit board (PCB). (essential)

* Automotive industry experience (preferred)

* Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

* Strong leadership and program management skills. (planning, risk mgt., budgeting, resource mgt., issues mgt, etc.)

* Demonstrated time management skills and attention to details

* Strong planning & organization skills

* Must be team and process oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required

* Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint

 

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER:

* Work on a wide variety of projects, including “proof of concept” projects to highly specific automotive projects, providing electric support and prototyping.

* Serve as primary point of contact to the customer, participating in regular customer meetings and involving key BGM personnel as needed.

* Ensure customer deliverables and program timing are met.

* Propose and establish program budgets and project timing.

* Establish and maintain an open issues report and project timeline.

* Establish and maintain program files and retain in an orderly manner.

* Facilitate and manage scope change activity.

* Minimize project risk and inform management appropriately.

* Report program status updates to the executive team on a weekly basis.

* Support sales team with quoting efforts related to their customer programs.

 

EDUCATION:

* BS Engineering, Electrical preferred

 

JOB TYPE:

Full Time, Direct Hire

 

 

SCHEDULE:

8:00 am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday

The Electrical Engineering Program Manager will work in Auburn Hills or Shelby Township, Michigan.
