Premier Electronic Systems Manufacturer, located in the Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their growing team.  The Electronics Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production test fixtures and equipment, as well as day to day diagnosis of production fall-out of the products built internally. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity with an excellent benefits package offered upon direct hire!

 

Essential Functions:

  • This team member will exhibit excellent electronic debug and repair skills.
  • Will become familiar with the design and operation of the various products produced and also of the testers and test tools used to validate products produced.
  • Will quickly diagnose and find problems and take corrective action or recommend corrective actions to the manufacturing team.
  • Will build prototypes and modify existing circuits as necessary to support production tester and test fixtures. Standard Electronic assembly techniques using soldering irons, perf-boards and hand tools is essential.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience using small hand tools as well as various electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering equipment, etc.
  • Ability to show proficiency in electronic circuit diagnosis and repair.
  • Good written language skill, good organizational skills, and initiative to learn.
  • Should be cooperative, flexible, and ready to dig into challenges, as well as contribute knowledge to the rest of the team. In short, a team player.
  • Should work well with other departments, have an eye for detail, and be able to document new designs thoroughly to enable easy construction of duplicate fixtures in the future.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Electronics or Electronic Engineering Technology from an accredited university or school, highly preferred.
  • Electronic circuit design experience or electronic CAD experience.
  • Component level debug and repair of surface mount PCB assemblies.
  • Electronic manufacturing experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

 

Shift and Compensation:

  • Schedule: 7:00am – 3:40pm Monday – Friday with overtime as needed
  • Pay Rate: $20.00-$28.00/hour to start, depending upon experience and qualifications
