Express Employment Professionals of Denver is looking for dedicated paraprofessionals (Academic Coach) to work with at-risk youth in a school in the Denver area!


This position is an evaluation to hire role, looking for long-term, dedicated and loyal employees to join this outstanding organization!


Pay Rate: $16.00-$20.00/hour depending on experience.


What does a day look like in this role? There are four main goals for a person in this role:

  1. Intervention:
    • Transport students utilizing company vehicle after receiving required Driver Certification
    • Monitor student attendance
    • Collaborate with regional leadership to ensure accurate truancy documentation is provided to the court
  2. Community and Legal Resources:
    • Complete all assigned training, adhere to school policy and state law
    • Collaborate with social workers
    • Actively recruit new students
  3. Support: Academic/Social/Emotional:
    • Act as liaison for students and teachers
    • Assist in students social and emotional growth
    • Ensure participation in extracurricular activities 
  4. Connections/Advocacy:
    • Communicate with staff, students and parents to keep student progressing towards academic, social and emotional success

What is required to be eligible for this role?



  • General associate’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Able to meet paraprofessional highly qualified requirements as defined by the Colorado Department of Education preferred, specifically:
    • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., the GED); AND
    • Demonstrate subject matter competency by:
      • Earning an Associate (or higher) degree; OR
      • Completing at least two years (48 credit hours) of study at an institution of higher education; OR
      • Passing a formal state or local assessment measuring one’s knowledge of and ability to assist classroom teachers in reading, writing and mathematics


  • Two years of experience working with students in a secondary school or school system required
  • Experience working with at risk youth preferred


  • Must possess a valid drivers license – Required.
