Construction Project Manager

We have partnered with a client that has deep roots in central Oregon! They specialize in utility installation, grading, and excavation services for all sizes of commercial and infrastructure projects. We are looking for a skilled and experience construction supervisor. This is very much a hands-on position and need someone who leads by example.


 What You Get to Do!

 Works closely with Office Manager and Senior Engineer

  • Collaborate with project engineers, architects, etc. to determine and understand the specifications and design of the project
  • Occasional project estimating and change order negotiation and documentation
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Assist with the coordination of equipment/materials and monitor to timely handle inadequacies
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities appropriately
  • Assist with the supervision of the work of staff and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Perform job site observations with project leadership
  • Participates in activities such as punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and prepares the necessary documentation
  • Provide oversight to closeout aspects of the project
  • Coordinate and inspect work
  • Prepare a variety of reports, including project daily reports and/or weekly progress report-
  • Ensure all team members and subcontractors are provided updated plans/specifications as changes are made

Typical Projects Include:

  • Collaborating with engineers, architects and construction personnel
  • Selecting subcontractors and delegating work
  • Problem-solving to address delays, emergencies or other issues
  • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements
  • Reporting progress to clients and company
  • Interpreting contract language and technical matters in a proficient
  • Preparing budgets, cost estimates, schedules and timelines

 What You Will Need:

  • Proven experience as construction project manager and/or estimator
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, cost estimation, and project management principles
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project)
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player, willing to accept constructive criticism and provide feedback to management
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
  • Experience evaluating project risks
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and personal skills
  • Possess working knowledge of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Current Oregon Driver’s License and insurable driving record
