Express is excited to team up with a local glass manufacturing plant located in Tumwater.  They are looking for the next RockStar to add to their team. This is a great career opportunity with an fast growing company with room for advancement.  They are willing to train for the right candidate. Schedule is Monday through Thursday 6am to 4pm with occasional Friday overtime shift. SUMMARY

Create custom glass window products by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include but are not limited to the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

For NSG Packaging:

May read and enter data into an Excel spreadsheet to determine which items need to be packaged for shipping and which have been completed.   

May operate an overhead crane to transfer packs of glass onto a rack for packaging. 

May sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to the stage in the process.

May operate a forklift to move glass and packaging supplies throughout the plant and from warehouse to warehouse. 

 

For Cutting Table Station:

May break out the cut-to-size (scored) pieces of glass from large sheets.

May remove pieces from cutting table and place on skid for packaging.

May remove scrap pieces of glass from cutting table and dispose of in designated waste receptacle.

May operate an overhead crane to transfer packs on and off the freefall table.

May operate a Rico lift to move A-frames of glass.

May operate a forklift to stack and unstack rack/skids of glass, including loading rack glass on the free fall table. 

 

 

For Edge Deletion/Packaging Station:

May remove pieces of glass from rack or dolly and place on castor table.

May operate small grinding wheel on table to remove glass coating from perimeter of glass.

May load finished glass product on to customer shipping rack or A-frame.

May operate shrink wrap machine to wrap and secure finished product for shipping.

May operate a forklift to stack and unstack skids.

 

 

All employees assigned to the above work stations may be required to rotate from station to station as needed.

 

All employees assigned to the above work stations are required to wear the designated safety equipment and are responsible for keeping their work stations clean of trash and debris.

 

All employees assigned to Cardinal are required to be flexible with regard to the start and end times of their shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, heat, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to read a tape measure proficiently to 1/16 of an inch.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license. Ability to pass physical and classroom training to obtain forklift, Rico lift, and crane certifications.
