HR & Recruiting Assistant Job Summary

Our client, a Grand Rapids based non-profit organization, is seeking an HR & Recruiting Assistant to join its team. In this role you will make a difference in the lives of others through empathy and compassion.


HR & Recruiting Assistant Responsibilities

  • Maintain and research new jobs posting platforms and opportunities
  • Maintain excellent professional relationships with job posting platforms, local churches, and community organizations
  • Post internal position openings
  • Manage our ATS, review and sort all resumes and applications
  • Prescreen candidates, provide interviews, conduct reference checks
  • Maintain new hire supplies and orientation packets
  • Maintain confidentiality of all matters
  • Perform administrative duties for the HR department
  • Assist with event registrations


HR & Recruiting Assistant Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of HR experience, specifically recruiting and employee relations
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel) required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Administrative, organizational, planning and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Time management skills to organize daily planning and monthly activities and meet deadlines
  • Customer service skills to interact effectively with employees and outside customers
  • Shift priorities quickly without losing attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
