Machine Wirer/Assembler - Batavia, OH 

2nd Shift - $17+/hr, BOE $2 shift differential and BONUS

 

Electrical Machine Wirer 

The Electric Machine Wirer is responsible for wiring large power supplies, including electrical and mechanical components and sub-assemblies by reading schematics. Continuous manual labor, physical dexterity, endurance and craftsmanship is required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Able to review and follow Prints/ Schematics/ Bill of Materials/ Sales Orders / Written and Verbal work instructions to understand the requirements for the panel build and executes the build plan efficiently per those prints / schematics
  • Layout control panel mechanical arrangements using squares, rules, etc.
  • Mount equipment by drilling, tapping, and cutting enclosures and panels per prints and hardware instructions
  • Follow Lean manufacturing utilizing tools such as Kaizans, 5S and other work area standards
  • Apply hand tools to ensure correct torque
  • Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards
  • Wires large control panels and power supplies. Involves wire routing, terminals, crimping, fastening, bolting, riveting and soldering to join or secure parts in place.
  • Assemble electrical connections, wiring, harness and installation.
  • Cut, strip, bend and mount wires to connect electrical units and subassemblies.
  • Mount assembled components, such as; pc boards, plc, resistors, transistors, capacitors, relays and sockets on large panels. Connect component leads and other component connectors, terminals and contact points by crimping and soldering.
  • Document Quality Control and problem resolution logs
  • Perform re-work of wiring and assembly at request and guidance of Quality Control technicians
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work area

Required Skills:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One year of wiring experience required
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills coupled with a strong mechanical ability
  • Ability to use solder Iron to attach wiring
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics / diagrams preferred
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools in a safe manner
  • Strong attention to detail and organization

Work Environment:

Employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting, etc.
