Responsibilities/Duties of 1st/2nd Shift CNC Set-Up Operator:
- Program CNC machines
- Plan job setups
- Override program settings as related to tool feeds and speeds
- Adjust tool travel distance
- Determine the tools required to perform a variety of close tolerances drilling, tapping, and milling operations
- Monitor machine operations
- Inspect machined parts to ensure job specifications are maintained
- Replace dull tools as necessary
- Set and sharpen tools as necessary
Qualifications for 1st/2nd Shift CNC Set-Up Operator:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to set auxiliary machines (hand mills, Milwaukee Vertical, and 6-8 spindle drill presses)
- Experienced with various types of gauging
