Express Employment Professionals is looking for an Assembly Worker lead. 



Perform a variety of repetitive assembly operations using hand and power tools and machinery to produce graphite tubular products consistent with Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing specifications for building product, and Manufacturing Technician expectations.  Working closely with the designing team to be able to adjust any manufacturing processes.

SHIFT: 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.


Pay: $15.25/hr




  • Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift and the ability to read 1/16 and 1/32 on a tape measure.
  • Inspect rod blank after rods: Visually inspect by turning, gripping and running fingers down length of rod blank.
  • Ream cork by placing on reaming machine by grasping cork and pushing back and forth until appropriate hole is reamed out.
  • Glue cork handle and reel seat to rod by rolling rod end in glue and pulling handle assembly into position at end of rod.
  • Apply cigar bands to handles by rolling rod while placing cigar band around handle.
  • Operate printing machine to imprint logo on rod. Place rod in holder and use hand operated machine to apply silk screen print Logo.
  • Operate handheld blow dryer to dry screen printed Logo onto rod.
  • Sand cork to shape and smooth texture using small pieces of sand paper to finish.
  • Mark rod using grease pencil for guide positions by measuring locations. Tape guides into position by placing guide on rod and place masking tape around guide to hold in place.
  • Place rod in holder and using coding to match thread with coding designated on traveler, tie thread into position at each guide.
  • Visually inspect rod to ensure guides, tips and reel seats line up.
  • Operate wrapping machine using foot pedal to rotate until sufficient thread is wrapped around guide.
  • Will also be working with metal mandrels applying raw graphic with an iron at the beginning of the manufacturing line and then rolling the graphic onto the metal mandrel with a hydraulic machine that is operated by foot pedal. Could also be working in the cellophane area applying cellophane onto the raw graphic with a hydraulic machine. 
  • Will be packaging rods and tagging with product identification and putting into finish goods inventory.
  • Will be using a Visibar scanning gun to put product into inventory, move inventory.



  • Retrieve materials from boxes and bins on shelves; reach over head, climb ladders and stools.
  • Position materials at each work station to maintain pace of tasks within the circuit.
  • Enter data into computer at standing or sitting work station
  • Trim paint brushes using razor
  • Trim blanks using an air-fueled cross-cut saw.
  • Sweep and mop floors at end and beginning of shift using mop, broom, dust pan.


Safety & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift and the ability to read 1/16 and 1/32 on a tape measure.
  • Strong hand and eye coordination are a must in all positions.
  • Do not wear dangling jewelry or shirt strings or loose clothing to catch in rotating parts.
  • Wear long sleeves and gloves or barrier cream and gloves to protect skin in area that may have direct contact with raw material.
  • Exposure to chemical or physical hazards of chemicals in some areas of manufacturing epoxy glues may cause skin irritations and conditions; acetone and alcohol is drying and may cause skin irritations; sanding of materials coated with epoxy may cause harmful respirable dust. Fumes may cause respiratory irritation.
  • This job requires continuous use of hands and forearms, fine manipulation and material handling.
  • Please be sure to wear shoes that give you good arch support. Something with a cushion insert would be nice as these positions requires a lot of standing.
