Job Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System.

Responsibilities/Duties of Quality Manager: 

  • Ensure the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to the customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements. 
  • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems
  • Oversee inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products
  • Ensure the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to the customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
  • Oversee inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
  • Lead a team of Quality Auditors.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (i.e. results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.
  • Oversee product recalls.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Quality Manager:

  • Three to Five (3-5) years’ relevant work experience (Quality Assurance/Quality Control).
  • Certification in quality control (ISO 9001 etc.) preferred.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
  • Strong knowledge of calibration and the ability to read part prints.
  • Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
  • Works with minimal supervision with excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of tooling process and technology.
  • Knowledge of plastics machines and auxiliary equipment (blow molding preferred).
  • Knowledge of plastics manufacturing process systems and technology (blow molding preferred).
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues using established platforms.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, bend, stoop and/or kneel throughout the day.
