Instructional Designer


Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Instructional Designer are to collaborate with key stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Learning and Development management on the design, development, and implementation of learning projects to develop Consultants’ ability to sell, recruit, and retain new team members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging and effective instructor-led trainings, virtual trainings, and supporting materials using sound instructional design techniques and adult learning principles
  • Design and develop training lessons and courses based on learning objectives provided by the Director of Consultant Training and based on training content provided by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Identify and incorporate the most effective practices in learning delivery, including gamification, social and peer learning, informal, and performance-based learning
  • Visually organize content for learning purposes using materials gathered from subject matter experts
  • Record, edit, and produce basic video and audio content
  • Write and edit training copy (training guides, video scripts, etc.)
  • Create job aids (PDF and video) for current processes
  • Use available creative resources (images, video footage, audio, etc.) and stay in compliance with relevant style guides (fonts, colors, templates, logos, etc.)
  • Follow established review process for feedback throughout the development process
  • Proactively communicate project progress and deliver high quality work that meets deadlines
  • Use established evaluation techniques to measure the effectiveness of learning activities
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing existing training by continually measuring and improving the learning experience
  • Execute work plans, providing progress and exception reports to managers and project leaders
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure training is shared across global markets
  • Complete projects and tasks to meet deadlines, working in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technologies, or related field
  • 2 years of corporate training experience, preferably in instructional development



  • Ensure all developed training aligns with regional business needs across international markets
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest online, event, and classroom training technologies
  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company
  • Expected to work about 20 hours per week between the hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Position is temporary and expect to be 3-6 months in length
  • Minimal travel may be required up to 5% of the time


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior experience developing training tools, videos, and job aids
  • Proven ability to create, manage, and deliver engaging training across multiple mediums and multiple learning styles
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills
  • Ability to be proactive, positive, and maintain a service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to incorporate learning and development best practices and technologies for innovative and improved learner outcomes
  • Technical savvy with knowledge of learning technology to design and develop online content
  • Ability to apply strong collaboration and partnership skills in a team environment
  • Ability to collect, analyze, evaluate, and prepare learning statistical data
  • Excellent technical and creative writing skills
  • Ability to incorporate sound adult learning principles into curriculum
  • Understanding and prior experience in Direct Selling industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and rapid development eLearning tools (such as Camtasia, Captivate, SnagIt, Storyline)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Ability to work at a computer station and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking up to 10% of the time
