Administrative Assistant– Shelby Co. (part time)

$15.00+/hr DOE. Mon-Fri, part time, 25-30hrs/wk. Columbiana, AL.
An organization in Columbiana, AL is seeking a part time administrative assistant to work independently in their office. This is a receptionist/administrative support role that will require you to perform a variety of administrative and customer related duties as well as some HR duties.

- Will be serving candidates who are seeking employment through the department, as well as employees of this department
- Data entry – call reporting (documenting everything) as there will be little foot traffic in office
- Order office supplies as needed
- Will be one formal board meeting monthly—will be required to take minutes of meeting
- Filing records; answering incoming calls
- Assisting board members w/ special projects
- Being the “gatekeeper” of the department—able to use good judgment and have sound decision making skills
- Handle testing of candidates applying to positions within department
What We Look for in a Great Candidate:
- People skills & attitude are the most important requirements!
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel & other MS Office 365 programs—must pass administrative assessment
- Strong & accurate keyboard skills (10-key data entry), quick aptitude for learning payroll system
- Organized, able to prioritize work duties; strong follow-up skills
- Able to work independently, and confidentially—will handle confidential paperwork
- Dependable & punctual
- Drug-free; background check
