Industrial Electrician
On behalf of my Automotive client in London, we are recruiting for 3 Industrial Electricians to join the maintenance team. Current Maintenance team size approx. 25-30 employees.

Wage: $30.74 per hour + Shift Premiums
Shift Premium: of $0.75 on Afternoons
Shifts: 4 Weeks Days / 2 Weeks Afternoons / 2 Weeks Night Shifts
Days: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  / Afternoons: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.  / Nights: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Work Environment:

  • Spacious facility, lots of walking, dark in some areas – lighting plans in place
  • Standing, bending, reaching, climbing ladders to access equipment
  • Automation in the facility, Presses, Heating Ovens etc.
  • Non-Air conditioned so can be warm in summer
  • Director knows everyone by first name, very sincere management style

Industrial Electrician Responsibilities:

  • High School diploma required
  • Clear Criminal Background Check is Required
  • Must hold a valid Electrical License for minimum 3 years – 442A or 309A
  • Must possess a minimum 3 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance/construction
  • Have solid knowledge and understanding of Ontario Electrical Code
  • Hold a valid Canadian driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical thinking, innovative problem solving, and independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot motors & controls without supervision
  • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment

Industrial Electrician Qualifications:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ability to work independently and under the direction of a supervisor
  • Experience with PLC programming and robotic trouble shooting
  • Ability to work in a schedule-driven environment to meet deadlines, and manage workload; and
  • Can work effectively as part of a team, with apprentices, and independently
  • Experience with controls and PLC’s and previous automotive experience is ideal
  • The preparation and/or modification of the following:
    • New electrical construction, mainly commercial and industrial
    • Industrial electrical preventive & corrective maintenance
    • Panel changes and service upgrades
    • Lighting retrofits
