Job Code MN233: Express Employment is looking for highly motivated, reliable 2nd shift Machine Operators! This opportunity is for a great local company in Phillips.

This is a Full-Time (temp to hire) 2nd shift position with no weekends. Starting pay is $16.00.

Summary: 

Perform duties required to set up and operate a variety of conventional machine tools to produce metallic and non-metallic parts to close tolerances, following blueprints, sketches and/or verbal instructions and using knowledge of machine shop theory and practice, shop math, machinability of materials and layout techniques.

Essential Functions: 

  1. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, etc., to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  2. Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece.
  3. Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drills.
  4. Good understanding of speeds, feeds and depth of cut based on material and setup.
  5. Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
  6. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
  7. Do first-piece inspection and continuous inspection as needed.
  8. Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  9. Fit and assemble parts.
  10. Instruct and assist other machinists with machining problems and operations.
  11. Manage machining jobs to ensure completion of required machining work within specified time frame.
  12. Confer with engineers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  13. Follow prescribed rules for safety and cleanliness, maintaining work area and equipment in accordance with standards and policies for safe conduct and operation of equipment.
  14. Report defective material, parts, equipment and unusual conditions to department supervisor.
  15. Identify, communicate and document improvements to procedures and processes.
  16. Comply with company standards for attendance and hours of work.
