Growing manufacturing company in McAlester, OK seeking a Line Operator.

Schedule: 

-Must rotate between days and nights every two weeks. 

-Must work every other weekend.

-12 hour shifts. 

 

Position Summary:

The Operator is primarily responsible for assisting with running the Units that are used in the day-to-day operation of all production processes; which includes: Catalyst Regeneration, Catalyst Reactivation, Catalyst Screening and Catalyst Manufacturing. 

This is performed by performing the essential duties and responsibilities listed below:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • For all new jobs - checks with Shift Foreman on physical count of containers, their location, and the labeling compliance as dictated by IMS inventory. Must check with Shift Foreman and verify the first label printed for any new orders.

Basic daily functions will include:

  • Bin changing
  • Feed sack staging
  • Lining drums
  • Dumping trash drums
  • Unit blow downs and clean-up both before and after jobs
  • Maintaining a clean change-room, control room and break room
  • Helping to change screens in screeners
  • When equipment issues arise, works in partnership with the Shift Foreman to trouble shoot and find solutions.
  • Constantly checks for document updates (i.e.: special notes) to ensure that unit is consistently run with correct requirements.
  • Adheres to the Job instructions, which includes: checking count of product and waste containers, making sample requests, checking the last label, and verifying the packaging.
  • Runs the unit in compliance with Safety requirements:
    • Safety equipment policies, LOTO, Permit-Required Confined Space Entry Program….
    • Emergency procedures
    • Specific requirements written down
  • Promotes a safe working environment by constantly communicating the need to follow all safety guidelines, also leads by example in this area.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Unload chemical trucks as needed.
  • Will label product on a regular basis; accuracy in labeling will be critical.
  • Will count bins and verify counts as needed. Must be accurate in all count checks.
  • Must be able to understand the Hazardous waste label procedures and ensure drums are labeled properly.
  • Will be responsible for different paperwork throughout the shift, and must have attention to detail in all labeling and paperwork matters.
  • Will be responsible for the sampling of Catalyst product throughout the shift.
  • Attends all trainings and meetings (technical, safety, environmental….) as required.
  • Must participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  •  Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED). 
  • Two year’s chemical process experience or two years’ maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • Must have forklift experience and be able to pass Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds frequently, work basic mathematical problems, count drums, and climb ladders frequently
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator as needed on shift.
  • Able to pass both initial and annual HAZWOPER trainings. 
  • Ability to complete in-house training

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
