Recreational Coordinator

Salary: $41,000-$45,000/year

Job summary: The Recreational Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all back end administration for recreational programs has been taken care of. You will primarily be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and editing various forms of scheduling and correspondence. This position will act as the first point of contact and provide general information to staff, clients, and the public. This role will also answer telephone and email inquiries and relay messages. Other duties and responsibilities will include coordinating staffing for recreational programs and events, validating requests for recreational staff time off, locating staff substitutes as needed, scheduling trips, coordinating the logistical aspects of the recreational program (meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects, events, etc.), monitoring and maintaining supply inventory levels, organizing program documents for distribution, and assisting with timesheet completion and daily logs. Flexible hours are required to meet the needs of customers and programs, as supervision is required two or three nights a week until 8:30pm. This position comes with a benefits package and a fun and dynamic work environment, as well as a casual dress code.

Position type: Direct Hire 

Pay: $37,000-$45,000/year 

Schedule: Flexible hours to meet the needs of customers and programs, including supervising two-three nights per week until 8:30pm once certified 


  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands, as this is a busy office environment in terms of traffic (must be able to work with interruptions from customers throughout the day)
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Strong editing, writing, and proofreading skills
  • Administrative experience is an asset
  • Level 1 or 2 NCCP certification and Respect in Sport Certificate preferred 
  • Updated Criminal Record Check
  • Must be able to work with children (police check and vulnerable sector screening required) 
  • Current First Aid certification
