 Essential Functions

• Take accurate measurements of metal parts using calipers, templates and fixtures. 
• Manage welding operations independently or in a group setting. 
• Visually self-inspect work for any defects with limited guidance. 
• Fabricate and polish welds
• Casting repair
• Scarfing
• Self inspect

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Additional instruction such as a welding certificate or technical diploma preferred and counted towards years of experience requirements.
• Preference given to candidates with experience operating a positioner and use of Flux Core and MIG weld wire.
• Aptitude to read and interpret blueprints and weld specifications.
• Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to perform precise measurements using a tape measure, square and weld gages.
• Basic computer skills required to accurately gather and input data from computer systems
