One of Central Oregon’s premiere homebuilders is adding a Staff Accountant to their team. 

 

What You Get to Do!

The Staff Accountant will perform accounting functions on a daily basis to assist the General Manager in reporting financial information accurately and on a timely basis. In addition, this position will collect, monitor, and study financial data in detail to be included in reports distributed to Senior Management and the Owners. This position should have the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

 

This position will provide accounting, analysis, and financial support to our owners, and perform various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting..

  • Reconcile the balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Work with team to automate processes and reports for more efficient workflow.
  • Review monthly interest statements, code and book accruals as needed and ensure all statements with payments due are made in a timely manner.
  • Post general/adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Work with management for the preparation of tax returns and audit material.
  • Maintain and prepare reports and work on special projects as requested.
  • Work with the project team to assure timely payment receipt
  • Elevate awareness of financial implications that can be addressed or reversed
  • Process payables with an accurate application of the sales and use tax requirements for the jurisdiction of the project
  • Assist with ad hoc, and/or specialized reporting requested by owners
  • Assist Controller with additional tasks as needed
  • Additional administrative duties as necessary

 

What You Will Bring…

  • 3+ years accounting experience required
  • Associates level education preferred
  • General knowledge of Sage and Procore is preferred
  • Familiar with CSI Master Format cost coding
  • Good understanding of accounting terminology and functions including preparing, entering and understanding journal entries
  • Exceptional Excel skills required
  • Able to work proficiently in Microsoft Word and Outlook programs
  • Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take direction, meet timelines and work on a multitude of projects at one time
  • Adaptable to fast paced work environment with repetitive and monotonous projects
  • Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity both in and out of the work environment
