Position Description:

 

The Warehouse labor is chosen for his/her knowledge of warehouse operations. The person chosen for this position leads by example, pays attention to detail, follows instructions and assists the Warehouse Manager with all warehouse functions.

This position requires that the Warehouse labor effectively communicate at different levels, be detail oriented, motivated, and efficient at multi-tasking. The Warehouse labor is responsible for the timely processing of parts and material through the system. The Warehouse labor will act as the department’s representative when working with fabrication personnel, sales department personnel, suppliers and customers. All unresolved issues are referred to the Warehouse Manager for oversight and resolution when required.

 

PICKING RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Proper use of warehouse equipment.
  • Accurate reading and following of sales order/manufacture order instructions.
  • Recording part counts, lot, batch and cure (if applicable) and scrap amounts.
  • Proper packaging (i.e., protect materials throughout handling and shipping).
  • Proper labeling of product (how many labels and label content-P/N, Qty, Lot, etc.).
  • Equipment preventative maintenance (if requested and trained to perform).
  • Preform cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Storage and identification of raw material/finish good stock.
  • Recording of labor for parts kitted/packaged.
  • Follow safety protocol in your area.
  • Contribute to warehouse feasibility meetings (if requested).
  • Must have the ability to do basic math.
  • Daily communication with warehouse manager of any inquires and to ensure the flow of work meets the demands of our customer base.
  • Able to run open sales order(s) report to manage on time shipments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles for pickup and deliveries.
  • Performs other duties as required.

SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Leads and assists in directing workflow in the Shipping area to ensure the flow of work meets the demands of our customer base.
  • Manage sales order pick tickets for picking.
  • Differentiate between international and domestic orders and identify special handling customers.
  • Accurate reading and following of sales order instructions.
  • Verify part, quantity, lot, batch, cure, expiration.
  • Proper packaging (i.e., protect materials throughout handling).
  • Verify Proper labeling of product (how many labels and label content-P/N, Qty, Lot, etc.).
  • Verify material certificates match with the parts shipping.
  • Prepares international & Domestic documents (invoices, export declarations, SLI, BOL, packing slip..etc.).
  • Determine and prepare appropriate shipping and customs documentation and enter information into UPS/FED EX software or any other software required by carrier.
  • Contacting Freight LTL companies to schedule pickup via email, phone.
  • Equipment preventative maintenance (if requested and trained to perform).
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Follow safety protocol in your area.
  • Proper use of warehouse equipment.
  • Contribute to warehouse feasibility meetings (if requested).
  • Must have the ability to do basic math.
  • Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is difficult or complex.
  • Performs other duties as required

 

RECEIVING RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Evaluate and schedule daily process of parts and materials through receiving in the most efficient manner.
  • Able to identify and read material certificate information.
  • Familiar with Expiration dates, cure dates, batches, Manufacture dates.
  • Daily communication with warehouse manager, and sales staff to ensure the flow of work meets the demands of our customer base.
  • Ability to maintain contact and communication with suppliers in order to facilitate the delivery of any missing paperwork.
  • Help maintain the QCOUT location to ensure proper inventory management.
  • Computer skills for moving, tracking, and locating parts and material within an AS400 system, additionally the ability to research and retrieve supplier/customer resources and requirements as needed from an internet-based system.
  • Ability to run receiving report and note any receiving inquiries.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Capable of communicating clearly and professionally by telephone, email or fax.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task.
  • Capable of driving a Forklift and use of a pallet jack.
