Overview:Ensure that the credit and collection policies and procedures of the credit union and its members. Oversee and actively participate in all collections and related activities for the credit union. Ensure strict compliance with state and federal credit and collection rules and regulations in all collection practices.Duties:• Actively engage with members experiencing delinquency, support them both through routine and complex situations.• Ensure that credit and collections policies, procedures, practices, and documentation meet federal and state regulations.• Ensure the workload in the Collections department is a smooth and efficient workflow. Always ensure the courteous and considerate interface with members.• Review accounts where actions beyond routine collection procedures are required. Resolve difficult or non-routine member issues with the support of the Senior Management.• Review all billings from attorneys and vendors retained for collection work.Authorize legal proceedings. Review default notices, surrender notices, bankruptcy procedures, foreclosure notices, etc. for accuracy and compliance.• Review and prepare recommendations for accounts that should be written off as uncollectable.• Develop and review accurate reporting for collection activities. Prepare and examine reports for Senior Management.• Establish and maintain effective employee relations. Evaluate the job performance of subordinates (if applicable) to ensure quantity and quality of work serving the membership.• Authorize and facilitate repossession and remarketing activities, including required notices, documentation, and supplemental legal requirements.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:• High school diploma required with two-years or more in collections with a financial institution.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent personal and professional leadership skills.• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.• Personal and professional leadership skills.• Excellent reading, writing, grammar, and basic math skills.• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products or similar software programs.• Familiarity with regulations that may affect collections at the credit union including the FDCPA and the TCPA.• Familiarity with Chapter 7 and 13 Bankruptcy rules and required filings.Physical Requirements:• Prolonged periods standing or sitting at desk and working on a computer.• Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
