GENERAL SUMMARY
Provide administrative and accounting support to Power Services Division accounting department, including general and project support, assistance with monthly financial closing, filing, and data entry.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare company Power Services project management and designated client invoices, and related journal entries.
  • Enter job cost journal entries into the accounting system and file journal entries.
  • Establish, maintain and post monthly recurring and standard journal entries in the accounting system. Work closely with other accountants and obtain updates on journal entries and related support.
  • Prepare job payroll funding requests and true-up calculations.
  • Responsible for monthly A/R financial closing of assigned jobs/departments, including:
  • Prepare accrued and adjusting general journal entries for assigned accounts, including but not limited to companydeferred revenue and revenue adjustments.
  • Perform job billing for company to record revenue and project expense in accounting system.
  • Prepare Statements of A/R and conduct collection efforts.
  • Reconcile A/R aging and general ledger.
  • Support accounting staff in reconciling and adjusting assigned general ledger accounts and completing the master reconciliation spreadsheet.
  • Provide support to accounting staff during monthly closings and year-end and interim audits.
  • Assist accounting staff with special projects and routine work as assigned, including but not limited to accounts receivables and payroll invoicing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.
  • Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions.
  • All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accurate data entry skills and experience with computerized accounting systems.
  • A working knowledge of spreadsheet applications is required.
  • Ability to effectively establish working relationships throughout operational groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy are required.


Education and Experience
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.
