A well-established Central Oregon construction company is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for this onsite role.

 

What You Get to Do!

Payroll Administrator for multi-faceted heavy construction company.  Duties include the management of employee files, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages and ensuring employees are paid on time.  In addition, all taxes, benefit obligations, and certified payrolls must be remitted accurately and timely. Additional key duties include, but are not limited to, interacting with employees regarding pay issues, onboarding and setting up benefits as individuals become eligible.

Core Responsibilities

·       Weekly verification and correction of employee hours and compensation including benefits, over-time, prevailing wages, per diem, travel expenses, child support, and garnishments.

·       Weekly processing of payroll and preparing direct deposit file for bank.

·       Weekly certified payroll.

·       Process IRS and State of Oregon payroll taxes and income withholdings.

·       Process employment changes, onboard new hires and maintain employee records.

·       Administer benefit programs.

·       Provide documents, employment verification, references, etc. when appropriate per employee requests.

·       Process all government agency inquiries and surveys regarding unemployment insurance claims, workman’s compensation, child support, garnishments, department of social services questionnaires, etc.

·       Answer employee questions regarding payroll and human resource related matters.

·       Work directly with President and General Manager to ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and revised based on operational needs and best practices within the industry.

·       Additional tasks as needed.

 

What You Will Bring…

·       5 years’ experience payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.

·       Working knowledge of payroll systems and experience handling complex payroll reporting situations.

·       Working knowledge of Oregon labor laws, prevailing wage laws, and other applicable governmental employment regulations and policies.

·       Comfortable working in a fast paced, team environment.

·       Ability to communicate effectively and work with all levels of employees and management.

·       High level of competence in MS software, especially Excel.

·       Technical knowledge of Heavy Jobs Construction Software and Vista accounting software a plus.

·       Ability to consistently and efficiently manage all aspects of payroll.
