The Quality Assurance Specialist I will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining the traceability & issuing of Parts, raw materials, and “where used” usage controls. Create Material and Internal Work Orders for purchase/fabricated parts and raw materials, using MS Word, Manual Data Logs, MS Excel, MS Access, Quantum, or other implemented methods 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Help maintain company legacy documentation and filing systems, as applicable.
  • Read, Learn, and Help support basic Civil Aviation Regulatory Requirements, QMS Procedures, and Q.A. Departmental Requirements.
  • Utilize MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) during daily activities to create, update, and/or revise company related documentation & correspondence, as necessary. 
  • Utilize other computer software applications including Adobe Acrobat Professional and Quantum Database tools, as necessary. 
  • Create and maintain QA Documentation files (paper and electronic) including QMS Manuals, Company Audit Files/Reports, Traceability files, Approved Supplier Files, etc., as necessary.
  • Support physical inventory identification, location assignments, and part/material labeling. 
  • Support approved supplier evaluations and maintenance efforts utilizing MS Access, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Quantum database applications. 
  • Assist with Customer and Supplier warranty issues, corrective action implementations, and continuous process improvements activities, as necessary. 
  • Assist with company calibration documentation updates, tool recalls, and calibration labeling. 
  • Assist with company Shelf-Life and other Hazardous Materials disposal documentation, traceability closeout, and invoicing activities. 
  • Support Internal, Supplier, Customer and Regulatory audit activities, assist with audit findings resolutions, and help with corrective action documentation & implementation efforts, as necessary. 
  • Perform basic Safety Audits, document safety requirements & concerns, and help coordinate 
  • Safety Issue resolutions
  • Utilize basic inspection tools and methods such as Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, etc., in daily operations, as necessary.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
    Knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulatory Requirements a plus 
  • Ability to evaluate and understand the special challenges and nuances of test equipment and other associated aircraft hardware.
  • An understanding of calibration and measurement errors, and their impacts on results. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical hardware inspection, test and analysis methods. 
  • Experience using Quantum Control “ERP” software is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses. 
  • Be highly adaptable, effective team player with the ability to develop, lead, and support. 
  • MS Windows Outlook including Word, Excel, and Access capable. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to successfully complete tasks/projects on time. 
  • Attention to detail as shown by accuracy and consistency, providing requested information on a timely basis, and following policies and procedures. 
  • Fluent English skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Able to sit and/or stand for significant periods of time. 
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • As employee capabilities expand, this position may require enrollment in the Department of Transportation (DOT) F.A.A. Drug and Alcohol “Pre-employment” and “Random” testing program in a “Safety Sensitive” capacity in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 120 for any future “maintenance” and “inspection” related duties.
