Overview:

Quality Control Associates are a key member of the QC team. QC’s work begins several days after the pieces are made at our hot shop’s and have cooled down to room temperature. Must then be sorted by the team and inspected for 20+ different flaw variables; results must be thoroughly tracked in an inventory and production database. Because of the handmade nature of our product, a successful QC staff member must possess an artistic eye and a developed understanding of the process to assess the pieces on their own merits. Will need to be detail oriented, support the efficiency process and be able to work in a demanding environment.

Duties:

·        Accurately count and record product received by the QC department.

·        Use an etching machine to etch our triskelion logo onto each product.

·        Conduct daily maintenance of etching machines, including replacing and rebuilding stencil plates, as necessary.

·        Accurately clean, sticker and count firsts for transfer to warehouse.

·        Assist in processing seconds for transfer to warehouse.

·        Examine new items for flaws and variations according to standards.

·        Enter new inventory into spreadsheets with number of firsts, seconds, error codes, teams, and transfer to different departments.

·        Check for stress in the glass using a polariscope.

·        Properly sort re-anneals and other QC holds to appropriate locations in the department.

·        Print labels and sticker firsts, then box them for transfer to warehouse

·        Write detailed notes about 2nds to the glassblowing team.

·        Work with QC manager to ensure any quality issues (color, shape, etc.) are documented and reported systematically to the production teams as appropriate.

·        Process seconds each week for transfer to the warehouse.

·        Assist in sorting and transferring seconds to the warehouse.

·        Other duties as assigned.

·        Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call shifts when needed.

·        Initiative-taker and proactive; able to work independently without supervision.

·        Excellent work ethic.

·        Ability to multitask, managing many different projects with varying degrees of urgency and frequent changes.

·        Ability to think quickly and critically, with excellent problem-solving skills.

·        Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 DOE

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Might have to work weekends as needed during busy season
