Accounting/Administrative Specialist

               North Myrtle Beach

               $23-$25/hr

 

Our client is seeking an Accounting/Administrative professional to oversee daily office and accounting operations for their stabilized family-owned and operated business. The ideal candidate will enjoy wearing many hats and staying busy throughout the day. Must have knowledge of GAAP, extensive QuickBooks (desktop) experience and be highly proficient with MS 365.

Accounting

  • Maintain all company records accurately and prepare year-end reports
  • Process payroll for FT and 1099 employees
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and year-end reports
  • Maintain WT accounts for 1099 employees and make transfers to savings accounts
  • Process rent payments and prepare receipts for tenants
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts and collect and process payment
  • Prepare deposits and deliver to bank
  • Maintain general ledger accounts for all companies
  • Create standard journal entries for prepaid & accrued expenses
  • Create journal entries for equipment purchases or retired equipment
  • Process year-end reconciliations of all G/L accounts & send to accountants
  • Prepare Personal Property Tax annual returns
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns
  • Review annual tax returns from accountants & update closing entries
  • Maintain all loan information including timely payments, breakdowns of principal & interest, setting up new loans w/ general journal entries

 

Administrative

  • Handle customer service for each business unit
  • Answer telephone requests & act as intermediary between residents & management
  • Send prospective residents New Tenant Packet
  • Maintain and edit company forms
  • Review, respond & maintain multiple email accounts
  • Review renewals with owner on all insurance policies: general liability, property, workers compensation, wind/hail & pay premiums; analyze cost comparisons annually
  • Review apartment rentals monthly & print reports
  • Process monthly excel spreadsheet to provide information to be entered in general ledger
  • Sign lease renewals electronically
  • Maintain file of resident leases
  • Process annual business license renewals & other annuals
  • Pick-up mail at post offices when needed
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Prepare excel spreadsheets as requested
