A well-established, high volume and multi-location medical office based in Northern Virginia is looking for an experienced biller/coder.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documents to ensure accurate coding and billing
• Assign the appropriate medical codes to each diagnoses and procedure
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations for medical services
• Prepare and submit insurance claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
• Follow up on outstanding and unpaid claims, as well as resolve any discrepancies or denials
• Maintain patient records and update information in EMR system
• Collaborate with providers to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Assist with medical collections of outstanding balances

Requirements

• 1 year of medical billing/coding experience
• Proficient in medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)
• Knowledge of medical billing processes and procedures
• Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records (EHR)
• Exceptional customer service skills
• The ability to work in a high volume office setting
• The ability to manage multiple tasks
• A willingness to take on more responsibilities as needed
