Salary: Compensation up to $55,000

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant for a Fairmont based Educational Institution!  The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for numbers and a desire to make a difference, we want to hear from you! This position offers a schedule of Monday through Friday with hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM and 7:45am -12:15pm during the summer months! Compensation up to $55,000, based on experience.

 

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile general ledgers and manage student accounts, including tuition and fees, in a manner similar to banking operations.
• Assist in maintaining fixed asset systems, ensuring accurate records and compliance with regulations.
• Answering questions relating to collections and generating collection letters
• Creation and data entry of deposits and invoices in the systems to ensure timely billing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting roles.
• Experience in higher education accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of fundamental government accounting principles is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
