Job Description:

As a General Laborer for Track Maintenance, you will assist with the inspection, repair, and maintenance of railway tracks. This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The role involves traveling for 10-20 days at a time to various job sites.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the inspection and repair of railway tracks and related infrastructure.
• Operate hand tools and equipment such as rail saws, grinders, and hydraulic tools.
• Conduct routine inspections of tracks and report issues or needed repairs.
• Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
• Follow safety protocols and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Load and unload materials and tools as required.
• Report safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with others.

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• A valid driver’s license is beneficial.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime and on-call duties as needed.
• Ability to travel for 10-20 days at a time to various job sites.
