Crane Service Technician

Located in Dearborn, MI

Salary: $25-38

Express Employment is seeking a Crane Technician to join a growing team providing in house design, fabrication, and servicing custom, industry-leading cranes for a contract to hire position. Although the facility is located out of Howell, MI, this technician may be responsible for clients in the Warren area and can commute from home once trained.

Pay based on experience, up to $40/hr. Willing to train entry level candidates with strong electrical backgrounds.

Responsibilities

● Assemble, install, wire and commission industrial overhead cranes at customer sites across the U.S.

● Perform preventative and on demand maintenance on overhead cranes.

● Inspect mechanical and electrical systems on overhead cranes.

● Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair crane equipment, mechanical systems, as well as AC and DC electrical systems in house and onsite in the field.

Education/Experience

● Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems, crane experience preferred but not required with proven experience.

● Ability to read blueprints and use metrological instruments such as micrometers.

● Basic organization, communication and problem-solving skills.

● Skills in one or more of the following areas are preferred: Millwright work, iron work, pipefitting, electrical meters, basic machining, basic welding and rigging.

Requirements

● Successfully pass background check and drug screen.

● Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed.

● Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

● Ability to work in confined spaces, and climb to heights which may exceed 150 ft.

● Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends as required by workload.

● Willingness to observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

● Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
