We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Weigh Master to join our team at Foss Recycling in Kingsport, TN. The Weigh Master will be responsible for accurately weighing incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position plays a crucial role in the efficiency of our recycling operations and the overall success of our center.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Weighing Operations:

  • Accurately weigh incoming vehicles and materials using the facility’s scale.
  • Record weight data and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

• Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate logs of all weights and transactions.
  • Input data into the computer system and generate reports as needed.

• Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers in a professional manner, providing information about the weighing process.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to weights and transactions.

• Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding recycling and waste management.
  • Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to management.

• Maintenance and Upkeep:

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on the weighing scales and report any malfunctions.
  • Keep the weighing area clean and organized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a recycling or waste management environment.
• Strong numerical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of recycling processes and regulations is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
