We are doing some exciting things with an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Westfield, IN who has asked us to help find a Manufacturing Systems Engineer. The company manufactures unmanned aerial systems for the military. As the Manufacturing Systems Engineeryou will play a crucial role in concept development, systems architecture, and integration and test activities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of electrical, software, mechanical, and aeronautical experts to ensure the company''s success.

Must be able to obtain DOD Security Clearance and meet ITAR compliance standards

 

Your Primary Responsibilities as the Manufacturing Systems Engineer:

  • Understand and evolve product and processes to meet customer needs.
  • Support and contribute to the product life cycle, meeting PDP staging and goals.
  • Define the aerostat system and requirements of systemic components and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on evaluation and selection of systemic components.
  • Work directly with the development team on successful delivery of aerostat features.
  • Own the verification of systemic components and aerostat product.
  • Support risk assessment and resolution.
  • Assist in transferring engineering to manufacturing and LRIP activities.
  • Support product deployment to the customer, including delivery, transportation, storage, assembly, installations, checkouts, training, and operations.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Create user manuals capturing functionality necessary for product usage.
  • Prepare and plan for customer support activities.
  • Capture processes or requirements for disposal of decommissioned, destroyed, or irreparable system components in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Develop training materials for effective operation and support features.

Required Skills You Will Have as the Manufacturing Systems Engineer:

  • BS or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer
  • Experience in integration and/or verification and validation.
  • Strong understanding of PDP with a V-Model Development.
  • Experience with system lifecycle development from system-level CONOPS to integration and test.
  • Strong risk assessment and opportunity skills related to technical risk management and mitigation.
  • Experience in conducting program technical reviews and supporting the technical roadmap.
  • DoD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interface with electrical, software, mechanical, and aeronautical engineers.
