Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of wire cages for poultry. This role requires an individual with a strong background in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance practices. You will play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and optimizing production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery, including wire bending, welding, and cutting machines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify and fix malfunctions.
  • Conduct emergency repairs on equipment during breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Fabricate, modify, and install parts as needed to improve equipment performance.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, recording issues, repairs, and parts used.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is operating within safety regulations.
  • Work closely with production teams to understand operational needs and address equipment concerns proactively.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and equipment for timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for major repairs or equipment overhauls as needed.
  • Train production staff on basic maintenance tasks to prevent equipment misuse and damage.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a wire cage or metal fabrication industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with welding, cutting, and fabricating equipment and parts.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for industrial machinery.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, when needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Standing, bending, and working in various industrial environments for extended periods.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery typical in a manufacturing setting.
